Lennox's speech

Lennox talks to a Lord about the murders of King Duncan and Banquo and the politics of Scotland. Lennox says that he thinks it’s too unreasonable for Malcolm and Donalbain to kill their own father. On the other hand, it’s quite possible for Macbeth to murder the King because of his slaying of the bodyguards. Furthermore, Lennox suggests that if Malcolm, Donalbain, and Fleance were in Macbeth’s prison, they would very likely to be killed by now. Lennox also says that Macduff is definitely guilt-free because he doesn’t take part in Macbeth’s banquet when the King was killed. In the speech, Lennox applies many ironies to make his statement.

Macbeth Part1 Response

In the first part of the Macbeth movie, Macbeth won a battle for Scotland and was hence granted the title of the Thane of Cawdor. This award proves the three witches' prophecies and helps Macbeth's ambition to overcome his sense of right and wrong. As a result, he kills King Duncan and became the King of Scotland. Also, Macbeth kills Banquo and Banquo's son in order to keep his throne. Beside the intensity of the plot, there are also a lot of symbolism in the movie. After the assassination of King Duncan, Macbeth and Lady Macbeth appear in an elevator which goes down rapidly. This strongly symbolizes the guilt and sin they have to bear. Furthermore, Lady Macbeth wears a red dress which I believe symbolizes the blood of the people she murdered.

Even though I haven't seen the whole movie yet, I think it's a very good movie. It's very true to Shakespeare's play that it applies the lines accurately with proper setting. In addition, the actors and actresses did a very good job on expressing the emotions of their characters.
