Childhood memory
Childhood memory
I'm always an animal lover even when I was little. I remember that there were always stray cats wandering near my house. I used to buy snacks on the way home from school and feed the cats. I loved how they "mew" at me, seems like that they're talking to me. Feeding them became my habitual activity everyday after school. One day I walked home with a handful of food as usual, however, I didn't see any of the cats. I waited and waited until the sun fell down, still no one familiar shadow. when I turned around ready to go inside the house, I saw a huge, macular dog in front of me, he barked at me like a dreadful monster. I suddenly realized that the cats are scared away by that hostile dog next door. Since then, I have never seen cats around the neighborhood. It all became my childhood memory.

Leadership Blood,Sweet,Tears
A leader definitely has to have certain qualities such as responsibility, honesty, humbleness, courage, and sympathy to be a great leader. With all these quality, a leader can definitely help his followers and lead them to the right direction. Furthermore, an efficient leader should also be caring that when people need help, suggestions, or directions, the leader can fulfill everyone's request. For example, when a group of people are working together, the leader of the team has to deliver tasks equally to everyone in the team without bias. In addition, when facing difficulties and obstacles, a leader has to be calm and clear to solve the problem or take the responsibility and consequences. With all these qualities, a person can certainly become a great leader.

Reflection on the lady of shalott
Reflection of the lady of shalott
I think the lady of shalott is a very strange but sad poem because of it's setting and plot. it's about a lady who's stuck in a tower, which the story may symbolize the restriction to the women at the time. It's also a little ironic toward the end when Sir Lancelot sees Lady Shalott's face and said its beautiful. Lady shalott dies because of Sir Lancelot but he has no idea about the cause of her death. The whole story is like a response to women's rights at the time that women were not allowed to do many things. When they thought they gained freedom, they were actually still limited

Quick write
Discuss why you think people remain enchanted with stories of castles, knights, quests, dragons, and ancient times.
I think people remain enchanted with all the mystical, and ancient stories because they were suffering from the harsh time of living. During that time period, people were getting sick and dying, countries were getting ready for wars, and people were living in threats. Only when they read such mystical and encouraging stories they could find hope. Furthermore, the romantic era was all about dreams, nightmares, myths, and fantasies so it's natural for people to prefer these kind of themes since these topics are highly exposed to people.

"I shot the Albatross!"
In the time of the ancient mariner, the mariner shoots an albatross after it brings fortune to the crew. However, reason is unstated and unclear in the story. I believe that the mariner shoots the bird because the fog and snow that surround the ship blind the mariner. Also, he may be afraid that the albatross is a coming iceberg that can sink the ship. Even though the write didn't directly state the reason why the mariner kills the albatross, the mariner eventually learns his lesson and is forgiven for his sin.

Coleridge and imagination
Coleridge and imagination
I think Coleridge's personal life, especially the tragic part, impacts his writing profoundly. Because of the tragic event happened later in Coleridge's life, he was able to write things different from that of others. I believe that when a person feel despair and depressed, he find ways to release his feelings and pressure. For Coleridge, writing was the way. Like Vincent van gough and Picasso, Coleridge was inspired and stimulated by his tragic experience. Also, he was able to see things from different perspectives. This allow him to write works that are innovative and imaginative to his audience. Even though the hardships Coleridge had gone through are crucial to him, they definitely helped to enhance his imagination.

Earth is Full
The TED speech we watched today is about the condition of the world economy. The speaker talks about how the world economy is growing like a accelerating machine that with this rate of growing, the resources will sooner or later not be able to support the economy. Also, he said that we should step up and make some changes before its too late because it will definitely has an horrible impact on future generations. I believe that the overuse of resources will effect the world efficiently. In the future, when the economy growing rate finally return to zero, finding a job will be a tough task for us. Therefore, our generation has to think ahead about what will be the leading trend in the future in order just to survive. I believe that in the future, only creativity and innovation can help turning the economical situation.

The Philosophy of Life
People all have different aspects toward death, some of them have strong feelings some of them don't. Many people say that they'll do things differently if they know they're going to die within a short time. However, I would act normally but experience different new things. Actually, death informs people that life is short and precious but also delicate and weak. Human beings think that they are powerful that they control everything on the planet but they are actually only a small part of the universe. To me, I think death is not scary and horrifying. Everyone faces death and it's just the matter of time. Therefore, holding on to the present and the moment you live in is important. Death stirs people's minds and motivates people to do things because their time of living is short. Even if I have few months to live, I would continue on with my life and not do anything ridiculous or immoral because I'm happy with my life and I enjoy every up and down of my life.

Samuel Johnson's Characteristics
Samurl Johnson is definitely an intellectual and knowdgeable person. According to the text, Samuel Johnson was able to define words with difficult and deep vocabulary. Also, he accurately defined many words such as "lung" and "sneeze" with scientific facts. Hence,it's very reasonable that he is a highly educated person who knows many other high class people. Furthermore,he is a humorous person. Some of his definitions are funny and sarcastic because of the way he chose to define the words. For example, he use "dull",who's is a word he defined to make a sentence-to make a dictionary is dull work. This shows the evidence of his humorous nature that he mocks himself as a person who just made a dictionary. Last of all, I believe that Samuel Johnson is a very good observer that he was able to define the very details of the meanings of words.

Lennox's speech
Lennox talks to a Lord about the murders of King Duncan and Banquo and the politics of Scotland. Lennox says that he thinks it’s too unreasonable for Malcolm and Donalbain to kill their own father. On the other hand, it’s quite possible for Macbeth to murder the King because of his slaying of the bodyguards. Furthermore, Lennox suggests that if Malcolm, Donalbain, and Fleance were in Macbeth’s prison, they would very likely to be killed by now. Lennox also says that Macduff is definitely guilt-free because he doesn’t take part in Macbeth’s banquet when the King was killed. In the speech, Lennox applies many ironies to make his statement.

Macbeth Part1 Response
In the first part of the Macbeth movie, Macbeth won a battle for Scotland and was hence granted the title of the Thane of Cawdor. This award proves the three witches' prophecies and helps Macbeth's ambition to overcome his sense of right and wrong. As a result, he kills King Duncan and became the King of Scotland. Also, Macbeth kills Banquo and Banquo's son in order to keep his throne. Beside the intensity of the plot, there are also a lot of symbolism in the movie. After the assassination of King Duncan, Macbeth and Lady Macbeth appear in an elevator which goes down rapidly. This strongly symbolizes the guilt and sin they have to bear. Furthermore, Lady Macbeth wears a red dress which I believe symbolizes the blood of the people she murdered.
Even though I haven't seen the whole movie yet, I think it's a very good movie. It's very true to Shakespeare's play that it applies the lines accurately with proper setting. In addition, the actors and actresses did a very good job on expressing the emotions of their characters.
